Tiffany Sippial, UNM Ph.D, now associate professor at Auburn University has recently published  Prostitution, Modernity, and the Making of the Cuban Republic, 1840-1920 which was based on her 2007 Dissertation, "Desiring Nation: Prostitution and the Struggle for a Cuban Identity, 1870-1920," and directed by Dr. Elizabeth Q. Hutchison.
