My primary research examines the intersections of Indigenous identity formation, gender, kinship, and community formation by students in U.S. federal Indian boarding schools during the early 20th century. Other research interests include historical research and pedagogical methodologies informed by Critical Indigenous and Native American Studies, education and curriculum history of the United States, student print culture, and student resistance.
