Zonnie Gorman, PhD 2024, who wrote about Navajo Code talkers in her 2024 dissertation, "The First Twenty-Nine: A Microhistory of the Original Pilot Group of Navajo Code Talkers, recently spoke to ABC news about the Department of Defense's decision to remove the story of the code talkers from its website. Gorman speaks about the contribution of these soldiers to the US war effort during WWII and the DoD's decision to remove reference to them.
