Departmental News

Posted: Aug 20, 2015 - 12:00am

The Department of History has been contracted by the U.S. Forest Service to participate in an oral history collection project that will coincide with the 2015 Forest Service Retiree National Reunion, which will be held in Albuquerque, October 11-16. The U.S. Forest Service and the History Department are presently looking for a number of current and retired employees of the USDA Forest Service to interview at this year's reunion. This project will build on the hundreds of interviews collected since 2005 during the centennial anniversary of the U.S. Forest Service.

Retirees are invited to recount their professional experiences to one of the graduate researchers. The interviews will take approximately 60 minutes each and will be conducted by UNM History graduate students in coordination with UNM faculty and the Forest Service History Program.

If you are a current or retired employee of the USDA Forest Service and would like to schedule an interview please contact the UNM History Department's graduate representative, Jennifer McPherson, at jmcphers@unm.edu or call 505.277.1886.
