Oral History Training Workshop

Where: Mesa Vista Hall, History Common Room

Please join UNM faculty and graduate students for an oral history workshop in the History Commons room August 28, 2015. The workshop is part of a public history project between the UNM History Department and the U.S. Forest Service. Federal historians from the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service will teach a four-hour workshop on how to conduct interviews and develop an oral history project. This workshop will prepare graduate students conducting an oral history project at the National Forest Service Retiree Association meeting in Albuquerque in October but is OPEN TO ALL FACULTY AND STUDENTS interested in learning the basics of oral history and Forest Service history from two experienced practitioners. Students and faculty of all geographic and time periods are welcome. Dr. Lu Ann Jones, Chief Oral Historian of the National Park Service and Dr. Lincoln Bramwell, Chief Historian of the U.S. Forest Service will teach the workshop.
