The American Studies Department hosts a lecture by Dr. Cynthia Young, "COINTELPRO and the Roots of the NYPD's War on Muslims," on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the Humanities Fourth Floor Common Area (outside room 419). Analyzing a series of articles on the New York City Police Department's surveillance of Muslim communities, Dr. Young draws parallels between the NYPD's war on black radicals and Muslims.
